Generation C

Our Story

The Founding Story

Generation C was founded by Hidde Blom and Matthijs van Wijngaarden, who were both born, raised, and continue to reside in Gorinchem, South Holland. They have known each other for over 22 years and are currently 27 years old, having been friends throughout this time.

Hidde graduated in Utrecht approximately 5 years ago and subsequently began working at a network organization in Houten, Utrecht. In this role, he had many interactions with entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in The Netherlands. These entrepreneurs shared a common dilemma, as their organizations were plagued by various issues, challenges, and problems. Outsourcing externally often proved to be prohibitively expensive, and the task of finding the right personnel posed a substantial challenge.

Simultaneously, Matthijs was pursuing his MSc in Business Information Management at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. During his studies, he saw numerous students who possessed substantial knowledge and intelligence. However, to his surprise, many of them worked as stocking shelves at Albert Heijn, delivering pizzas for Dominos, or expertly flipping burgers at McDonald’s.

These observations from their respective environments were combine to create Generation C. Generation C recruits top university students from Erasmus University and TU Delft, harnessing their potential to assist (SME) companies at a fraction of the rates typically levied by large professional consulting firms.
